Places We've Been... 2001 - 2002

Since the onset of this project we have worked relentlessly spreading the message of Danae's story. Following, is a list of the goals we achieved from October 2001 - June 2002:

Saturday, October 13th, 2001, Susan Kesler's, Healthy Beauty Classes in Saskatoon heard Cheryl Speak. These young people heard how better choices might have made a difference for Danae. There were approx. 30 teens.

Monday, October 15th, 2001, St. Mary's High School in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, hosted Danae's Song. There were approximately 700 students who viewed our presentation which kicked off with a BBQ hosted by SaskEnergy, in partnership with Mitchell's Gourmet Foods and Coca-Cola Bottling Company. Students listened to Danae's family and Shelagh speak. The band performed Danae's Song live.

Our presentation was hosted by St. Michael School on Wednesday, Oct. 24th. Grades 5-8 heard Danae's mom and Erin (Danae's best friend) speak. 72 students viewed the video.

Sion Middle School in Saskatoon hosted our program on Thursday, October 25th. Grades 6-9 make up approx. 110 students. Cheryl spoke and the kids viewed the video.

Walter Murray Collegiate in Saskatoon schedualed our presentation on Monday, October 29th. The band performed for about 1,200 students.

Monday, November 19th, we were going to present our program to Bedford Road Collegiate. They have rescheduled for sometime in Febuary. We'll let you know when dates are confirmed.

The Just Say No Club at St. Anne Elementary School hosted a school wide evert for Danae's Song program. It was held on Tuesday, November 20th. We had about 100 students view the presentation.

Wednesday Nov. 21st, Mosquito School at 9 am was the beginning of a busy day. After their students heard the presentation, we were off at 10:45 am, to present it at Cando Central School in Cando for grades 5-12 Students. At 1:15 pm, we shared our program on the Red Pheasant Reserve at Clifford Wuttunee School. There were a minimum of 300 students who saw the program. Celene and I enjoyed our day with these wonderful students and were treated like royalty.

We love you , Melfort! On Monday, November 26th, we visited Melfort High School. SaskEnergy hosted a BBQ for the students and the band performed live. The students donated over $200 to our foundation. Thank you, Melfort! There were approximately 700 people who viewed the presentation.

Cheryl was at Christion Valley Academy on Thursday, November 29th. About 110 students witnessed the program.

Moose Jaw, what a welcome you gave us! A.E. Peacock Collegiate hosted the presentation Monday, December 3rd, in Moose Jaw, Sask. The band played for the 820 students. Our afternoon performance was in the same place but we did the program for Riverview Collegiate & Central Collegiate. They have about 620 students combined.

St. Joseph High School in Saskatoon hosted Danae's Song on Wednesday, December 12th. There were close to 1,000 students, parents and teachers who saw the presentation.

On Tuesday, December 18th, Celene and Cheryl were at Dalmeny High School. Grades 7-9 heard the program at 9am and grades 10-12 at 10:30am. There were about 285 students who listened to Cheryl and Celene speak.

The Just Say No Club from Lawson Heights Elementary School in Saskatoon hosted the program for about 200 children, grades 4-8. IT was on Tuesday, January 8th 2002.

Carrot River High School was next on the list. They were joined by Arborfield and Zenon Park High Schools. We were there on Wednesday, January 9th, 2002. The performance was for approx. 450 students.

Monday, January 14th, 2002, we were at Walter W. Brown High School in Langham, SK. We presented the program to grades 6-12 from their school, as well as, Radisson and Borden High Schools. 400 students attended.

Mount Royal Collegiate, Saskatoon, you were next on the list. We saw all 1,450 on Tuesday, Febuary 12th for 2 performances.

Wednesday, February 13th, 2002, we performed Danae's Song at Aden Bowman Collegiate. It was a wonderful experience. There were about 1150 students, teachers, parents and guests who saw the program.

Bedford Road Collegiate, you were terrific! On Monday, February 25th, 2002, Bedford hosted the Danae's Song presentation. They had about 975 students who attended.

The Just Say No Club hosted our program at River Heights Elementary School on Wednesday, February 27th, 2002. There were approximately 100 students in attendance.

Monday, March 4th, 2002, we headed out to Viscount High School in Viscount, SK. There were approx. 140 adults and students in attendance.

We presented Danae's Song program at Maidstone High School, Saskatchewan, on Wednesday, March 6th, 2002. They had 300 students, teachers and community members in attendance. This school was a wonderful host and made us feel so welcome. They were so helpful and we wanted to say thanks for making it such a great day.

Outlook High School, we saw you on Thursday, March 7th, at 1:50pm. We thank you for the opportunity to visit your school. There were around 300 students, parents and guests who watched the presentation.

Carpenter High School, in Meadow Lake, SK hosted the presentation on March 13th. The 450 students invited other schools to come hear Danae's Song as well.

The First Responders Conference was held in Saskatoon on Saturday, March 16th, 2002. They saw the Danae's Song program at 12:30pm. They conference had approximately 200 first responders present from all over Saskatchewan. We really enjoyed the opportunity to speak to these community heroes at the Saskatoon Inn. They are a wonderful group of committed, caring people.

The SADD chapter in Kindersley hosted our program for it's 600 teachers and students on Tuesday, March 26th. The program was at Kindersley Composite High School.

On Wednesday, April 10th, we presented our program at Paradise Hill High School. Between students, teachers and community members there were about 200 people in attendance.

Dinsmore and Milden High Schools saw our program on Wednesday, April, 17th. There were approx. 150 students.

We were off to Cudworth, Saskatchewan, on Friday, April 19th for a performance. Students from Wakaw, St. Louis and Bruno joined Cudworth for a total of about 450 students.

On Monday, April 22nd, we gave our program for the students at E.D. Feehan Collegiate in Saskatoon. 1,200 students were in attendance.

We presented two programs in Humboldt, SK at Humboldt Collegiate on Tuesday, April 23rd. Lake Lenore, St. Brieux, Muenster and Annaheim students were bussed in for the event. SaskEnergy hosted a lunch for 900 students.

The town of Leask, SK was next on the schedule for Monday, April 29th. 300 students from Leask Community School, Blane Lake Composite School and Mitawasis School attended.

Our first public program, open to adults and teens, was on Tuesday, April 30th. It was held at Cornerstone Church, located at 315 Lenore Drive, in Saskatoon. It was a great evening and about 300 people watched the program.

Holy Cross High School in Saskatoon hosted our presentation on Wednesday, May 1st. They had 1,050 students and adults.

Martensville hosted 2 programs on Thursday, May 22nd. The first was at Martensville High School for 350 students. They had a community program for the 150 parents and public to attend in the evening as well.

Rosetown Central High School's 550 students watched our program on May 3rd in Rosetown, SK.

On Monday, May 6th, we presented our program at Edam High School in Edam, SK. They had about 200 students, parents and teachers.

210 students from W.P. Sandin High School in Shellbrooke, SK hosted the presentation on Tuesday, May 7th.

Kenaston High School in Kenaston, SK heard our presentation on Wednesday, May 8th. Abour 150 people and students attended.

Delisle High School was next on the list on Thursday, May 9th. 385 students heard the program.

On Friday, May 10th we presented Danae's Song to the Pelican First Nation School. They had about 250 students, elders and NADAP workers who attended.

On Monday, May 13th, Cheryl spoke to Hugh Cairns Elementary School in Saskatoon. Approx. 140 students, teachers and parents attended.

On Wednesday, May 15th, we presented our program to 500 students at Tisdale Middle and Secondary School in Tisdale, SK.

Warman High School hosted our program on Thursday, May 16th. 300 students attended as well as some commmunity members.

Fairhaven Elementery School in Saskatoon, SK was next on the list. It was May 23rd and about 150 adults and students attended.

Friday, May 24th, we were at Neilburg High School in Neilburg, SK. There were 150 people who saw the program.

On Monday May 27th, we presented our program at St. Walburg School in St. Walburg, SK. We spoke to about 200 students.

Midale High School in Midale SK hosted our program on Wednesday, May 29th. They had approx. 150 students and adults.

LP Miller Comprehensive in Nipawin hosted our show on Thursday, May 30th. The Grade 9 class from White Fox School joined them for a thotal of approx. 700 students, teachers and adults. SaskEnergy hosted a BBQ for the students with the proceeds going to Danae's Foundation. Thanks SaskEnergy!

On Friday night, June 7th, Cheryl spoke for the senior youth group at Cornerstone Church on Saskatoon. There were about 40 young people.

James Smith Reserve hosted our program on June 12th. The program was presented to about 110 students, teachers and parents.

St . Augustine Elementary School in Saskatoon had Cheryl talk to the grade 8 students who were graduating. They had close to 50 graduates.

By the end of June 2002,
we had presented our program to at least 29,000 students and adults!!!
